Audits

Pick the test that matches where you are.

A pre-launch audit if you make the product, a buyer’s test if you are choosing one. Both are fixed-price and fixed-scope, with a written result at the end. If you are not sure which fits, send the request and say so.

You are about to launch, change pricing, or roll out to a large customer, and you want to know what a stranger hits first.

What happens

  • Setup from a blank workspace, using only your docs.
  • Your main user scenario, run end to end from a clean state until it breaks or holds.
  • Which hosts the product contacts, compared with what your privacy policy and docs claim.
  • Limits, caps and what the trial really includes.

What you get

  • A written findings report. Each issue has a severity, reproduction steps, timestamps and screenshots.
  • A short list of the questions a careful buyer or security reviewer would ask your team.
  • One retest round for the items you fix, inside an agreed window.

Terms

  • Fixed price, quoted up front.
  • Half on start, half on delivery of the report.
  • Findings are private to you.
  • Synthetic data only.
Not included: Penetration testing or exploit attempts. Source code review. A legal opinion on your policy.

You are close to signing for an AI product after a good demo. Before you sign, I run your scenario on the trial or a sandbox and write down what broke and what held.

What happens

  • Your scenario, written down with you, run on the vendor’s trial or a sandbox you provide.
  • Setup from a blank workspace, so you see what your own team will go through.
  • Which hosts the product contacts, compared with the vendor’s privacy policy and your data rules.
  • Where the plan you are quoted stops: seats, caps, add-ons, the trial’s fine print.

What you get

  • A go or no-go memo with the evidence behind it.
  • The findings list, graded, with reproduction steps for anything your team wants to see for themselves.
  • A list of questions to put to the vendor before you sign, and the answers I could already find.

Terms

  • Fixed price, quoted up front.
  • Half on start, half on delivery.
  • If the vendor fixes something before you sign, I can rerun those items; that is quoted separately.
  • I disclose any paid work for that vendor before you hire me, and you can choose someone else.
  • Synthetic data only, unless you provide a sandbox with your own test data.
Not included: Contract negotiation or pricing advice. A recommendation between vendors I have not tested on your scenario.
Retest

Retest: included with a pre-launch audit.

You fix what you choose to fix from the report. Inside the window agreed in the quote, I rerun those items the same way they were found.

What happens

  • Each fixed item rerun from a clean state, with the same steps as the original finding.
  • A fresh network capture if the finding touched data handling.
  • A check that the fix did not move the problem somewhere else in the same scenario.

What you get

  • The updated report, with each retested item marked fixed, partly fixed or still open, with new timestamps and screenshots.

Terms

  • One round is included with each pre-launch audit, inside the window set in the quote.
  • Further rounds are quoted separately.
Not included: New scenarios. Those are a new audit.
The quote

What a quote contains.

You send the product and the scenario. I reply with a one-page quote, and the quote is the contract.

  1. The scenario, in one paragraph.Written the way a customer would run it, so there is no argument later about what was tested.
  2. The product and the account I will use.Public trial, a sandbox you provide, or an invite. The tier matters: a trial that hides the feature the scenario needs is a finding, but it is a cheap one.
  3. The dates.Start, report delivery, and for an audit, the retest window after it.
  4. The price and the split. One number. Half to start, half on delivery of the report. No hourly billing.
  5. What is out of scope.Named, so a second scenario becomes a second quote rather than a surprise.

If anything in the quote turns out to be wrong once I am inside the product, we fix the quote. The report does not bend to fit it.

Send the request even if you are unsure which test fits.

Describe the product and the scenario. I reply with the test that fits, a fixed price and dates.
